THE BURNING SEA

I was the Production Visual Effects Supervisor on “The Burning Sea” (aka “Nordsjøen”), directed by John Andreas Andersen, featuring Kristine Kujath Torp, Henrik Bjelland, Rolf Kristian Larsen and Anders Baasmo Christiansen. I managed and supervised on-set and in post, all the digital visual effects, made by Storm Studios, Rebel Unit, Gimpville and Filmgate. We had to create some massive full-CG water, explosion and fire simulations, crumbling platforms and large under water environments for these challenging scenes.

“The Burning Sea” is the latest disaster epic from the team behind “The Quake” and “The Wave”. The movie was released in Norway in October 2021 and in the US in February 2022. The movie received the Amanda Award (Norwegian Academy Awards) in 2022 for Best Visual Effects
