THE ASH LAD: IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING

I worked as the Production Visual Effects Supervisor on the Norwegian family movie "The Ash Lad: In the Hall of the Mountain King" (aka "Askeladden: I Dovregubbens Hall"), directed by Mikkel Sandemose. I supervised the digital visual effects and creature animations created by Windmill Lane VFX, Gimpville and Varg Studios. The movie is based on classic Norwegian fairytales about the protagonist boy called the Ash Lad and his brothers Per and Pål, trying to save the Princess who has been abducted by the troll called the Mountain King. And on their journey they encounter witches, water creatures and other mythological creatures knows from Norwegian fairytales. The movie was a box office hit when it opened in Norway in 2017 and two more sequels are on the way.
